If you've never booked a private yacht charter before, the process is more straightforward than it looks. Here's how it works with CDM Yachts, start to finish.
1. Decide on your occasion and guest count
Guest count is the single biggest factor in which yacht fits. The Sea Ray 52 and Sea Ray 56 each carry up to 13 guests — good for proposals, birthdays, and bachelor/bachelorette parties. The Westport 100 is certified for up to 134 passengers, built for weddings, corporate events, and large-group celebrations. See our charter experiences for occasion-specific pages.
2. Pick a date and duration
Every charter has a 2-hour minimum, though most guests book 4 hours or more. Weekend and holiday dates go first, so earlier requests get more availability to choose from.
3. Request availability
Submit a charter request online or call (619) 866-6966. A request doesn't confirm the booking on its own — our team follows up to confirm the date and finalize pricing based on your guest count and duration.
4. Confirm and plan the details
Once confirmed, you can arrange catering, beverage service, or entertainment in advance. Full payment secures the reservation.
5. Step aboard
Every charter departs from Shelter Island with a USCG-licensed captain and crew already aboard — no need to arrive early to prep the boat yourself.
