Westport 100 entertaining space

A quinceañera marks a big milestone, and the celebration deserves a setting that matches it. A private yacht charter gives the honoree and her court open water, a skyline backdrop, and a party that belongs to your family alone.

Why a Yacht Fits a Quinceañera

The whole yacht is chartered for your group only. There's no shared dance floor, no outside guests, and no one else's event running alongside yours.

Everyone boards together and stays together. Grandparents, cousins, and the court of honor share the same deck from the first toast to the last dance. Nobody scatters across a large venue.

San Diego Bay also gives you a changing backdrop for photos. As the yacht cruises from Point Loma toward Coronado, the downtown skyline and the Coronado Bridge move into frame without anyone leaving the celebration.

Picking the Right Yacht for Your Guest List

Guest count usually decides the yacht. A close family celebration of 13 guests or fewer fits the Sea Ray 52, Sea Ray 56, or Beneteau 50. Each offers a salon for dancing, a dining area, and deck space for photos.

For a quinceañera built around photos, the Sunseeker Predator 72 has a striking black-and-white hull that stands out from the moment you step aboard. It also holds up to 13 guests, chartered as a 4-hour trip.

For a quinceañera with a full court of honor and extended family, the Westport 100 holds up to 134 guests. Its main-deck lounge and panoramic-view salon leave room for a dance floor and seating for dinner. There's also a clear space for the formal presentation and father-daughter dance. Hourly rates start at $1,500 for up to 25 guests and scale up with headcount — see the price estimator for your exact group size. Our large-group charter page has more on planning a bigger celebration.

If the evening calls for a quieter, more intimate setting, consider the McKinna 69. Its enclosed, climate-controlled Skylounge is worth a look, though it departs from Mission Bay rather than San Diego Bay.

Daytime or Evening Celebrations

A daytime charter leaves time for an anchor stop. Some charters drop anchor in Glorietta Bay off Coronado for swimming and lounging, depending on the vessel and conditions. That gives the court of honor a break between photos and dancing.

An evening charter catches the skyline lit up after sunset, a dramatic setting for the formal presentation and the first dances. Most celebrations run 3 to 5 hours, with a 2-hour minimum on every charter.

What to Plan in Advance

We can coordinate catering, or your family can bring your own food and beverages. Music and entertainment setup, along with décor placement, depend on the vessel, so tell us your plans when you request availability.

If your celebration runs into the evening, enclosed areas are available on every yacht. The group can warm up without the night ending early.

Arrival and Logistics

For Shelter Island departures, public parking is available in the lot across the street near the pier. Your confirmation includes the exact boarding location, worth sharing with family and any photographer joining for arrival photos.

A USCG-licensed captain and crew run every charter, so no one in the family needs to worry about driving the boat. Life jackets are provided for every passenger, and we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover for payment.

Good to Know Before You Book

  • There's no minimum age for passengers, so the honoree, her court, and family of any age can celebrate together.
  • The renter must be 18 or older, and full payment secures your date.
  • Cancellations at least 5 days before your reservation are fully refunded.
  • If weather turns unsafe for boating, we reschedule to a mutually convenient date rather than sail.
  • Pets aren't allowed aboard, except documented service animals, and smoking and illegal drugs are prohibited.

A Milestone Worth Marking

A quinceañera shares a lot with any milestone birthday on the water: the dancing, the dinner, the photos against the skyline. Our birthday charter page has more on planning a celebration like this one.
