Deck seating aboard the Sea Ray 52

May 14, 2026 · By CDM Yachts · 1 min read

A proposal on a public tour boat means a deck full of strangers and no control over the moment. A private charter solves both problems — it's just your group, for the whole trip.

Timing. Sunset departures are the most requested for a proposal, timed so the moment itself happens as the light changes over the water. A late-afternoon departure gives some buffer if you want photos before and after without rushing.

Vessel. Most proposal charters book the Sea Ray 52 or Sea Ray 56 — intimate enough for a small group (or just the two of you plus a photographer), with a foredeck or flybridge that works well for photos.

A few things worth arranging in advance: a photographer coming aboard, champagne or a small celebration setup, and letting your captain know roughly when and where on the route the moment will happen, so the boat's position and lighting cooperate.
