The flybridge seating area aboard the Sea Ray 56

Spring break brings a wave of visiting families and college groups to San Diego, and the bay is a good way to spend a few hours away from crowded beaches and boardwalks.

Families tend to book shorter, daytime charters — a couple of hours cruising toward Coronado and back, calm enough water that seasickness is rarely an issue, with kids welcome at any age (there's no minimum passenger age; the renter must be 18 or older).

College groups and friend groups more often book the Sea Ray 52 or 56 for a half-day, bringing their own food and drinks (including alcohol, which is allowed) and treating it as the trip's centerpiece rather than a side activity.

Larger groups — extended family, multiple friend groups combining a trip — fit better on the Westport 100, which can handle up to 134 guests without feeling crowded. See our Large-Group Charters page for details.

Spring break dates book out early, particularly weekends, since the same weeks draw demand from both local and visiting groups. Request availability as soon as your travel dates are set, or see our fleet to compare vessels first.
